Odil is a  Registered Social Worker with over 16 years of combined clinical experience working with youth, adults,  and families in various hospital and  community settings. Odil has a Masters Degree from University of Windsor as well as  a Child and Youth Care degree from University of Ryerson. She has completed additional training in DBT, EMDR, and has a  Addiction Care and Treatment Certificate from  University of British Columbia. She has sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry, addiction issues, biopsychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, critical incident debriefings, treatment plans, and counselling, She specializes in a wide range of mood related disorders such as depression, seasonal affective disorder, relationship difficulties, substance abuse, interpersonal effeteness,  and emotional distress. In addition, she is experienced in leading and facilitating a variety of groups such as DBT, ADBT, and Substance Misuse groups. For the past 6 years Odil has been working as a Crisis Intervention Specialist  in the Emergency Department across York Region where she has served thousands of patients and their families.  A critical part of her role is to provide comprehensive crisis assessments, interventions,  and short-term counseling  using a wide range of therapeutic modalities such as DBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, CBT, Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy.

Her  therapeutic approach is integrative and eclectic. She engages in a person-centered approach, drawing on concepts such as self-discovery, mindfulness, self-love, self-acceptance, and self-compassion.  She experiences joy in guiding clients towards their unique path.  She utilizes a wide range of techniques drawing from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She works in collaboration with individuals to recognize their strengths, develop healthy coping skills and create positive life changes in a safe and non-judgmental setting. Through this collaborative approach, she works to empower individuals to move forward in leading a more complete and fulfilling life.
