Ava completed her undergraduate from the University of Toronto(UofT) specializing in Mental Health Studies and went on to complete her Master of Social Work at UofT, with a specialization in health and mental health. She has experience supporting children, youth, and adults with mental health challenges and system navigation by having worked in community mental health. Ava is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
In her work, Ava utilizes an eclectic approach of evidence-based practices specifically drawing on tools and concepts from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness. Currently working with youth and adults she has extensive experience supporting them with challenges related to generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, boundaries and relationships, stress management, and self-esteem.
Always approaching her work from an anti-oppressive, person-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed perspective she creates an emotionally safe and compassionate space where you will feel heard and supported. Ava strongly believes everyone has great internal wisdom and resilience to navigate life’s challenges and become their best selves. She is grateful and privileged to work with you on this journey.
