Yiching (pronounced E Ching) has 11 years of clinical experience working with children, youth, and adults as a Social Worker in multiple settings (children’s mental health, community health care, and education). She currently holds a full-time position as a Community and Inclusion Social Worker for a school board in Ontario.
She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and has numerous clinical training hours and certificates in Solution Focused, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapies, Emotion Focused Coaching, and Mindfulness. Yiching has worked extensively with children, youth, parents, and adults in helping to identify key challenges, support with goal setting, and teach various strategies and skills to empower clients in making meaningful change.
Yiching offers counselling for adults, parents, students, and adolescents. Her approach is client-centred, solution focused, anti-racist, and trauma informed. This means that Yiching uses various lenses in helping to identifying problems using a thorough assessment and a treatment plan that includes the client as the expert and Yiching as the facilitator in helping to achieve goals and make change.
Yiching utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions (Solution Focused, Emotion Focused, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapies) in helping clients in addressing their challenges.
Counselling can be challenging and awkward. Yiching uses humour in acknowledging some of these uncomfortable moments in order to help clients build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, rapport, and growth.
Yiching provides services in English and has comprehension in conversational Mandarin.
Yiching is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
