“The good life is a process. Not a state of being. It is a direction. Not a destination.” – Carl Rogers
I am a compassionate and dedicated social worker with many years of experience providing psychotherapy to diverse clients (youths, adults, seniors, and families with diverse ethno/racial/cultural/ LGBTQ2+/ socioeconomic backgrounds). I bring experience working in clinical and community settings to address a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, stress management, grief/ bereavement, adjustment to life changes, interpersonal concerns (relationship issues, low self-esteem, conflict with others, isolation), living with chronic illness, risky behaviours (self-harm), limited social supports, and challenges incorporating health-promoting behaviors into daily life.
I am sensitive to each individuals’ unique lived experiences and work on providing a safe space to build self-awareness, explore possibilities, and develop action plans. I take a reflective yet action-oriented approach to therapy to help create transformative steps to promote growth. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and draws from various psychotherapeutic modalities based on client goals (Trauma-informed, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy). My commitment in session is to support client’s potential to tap into their inherent strengths, values, skills, resources, and resilience to support their needs on their journey towards meaningful change.
I have worked with St. Michaels Hospital, SickKids Hospital, Youthdale Treatment Centres, and Lumenus Community Services (formerly known as Skylark). Currently, I am employed with Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team and Sunnybrook Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic. I currently hold an Adjunct Lecturer status with the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at University of Toronto.
I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
