Tarak holds a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and a Bachelors of Social Work from Ryerson University. He has over 10 years of working experience providing services related to mental health, addictions, substance use, suicide, crisis intervention, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, and supportive services. Tarek has previously worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association-Halton, St. Michael's Hospital and the Ministry of Health and is employed with the City of Toronto. He also holds the position of part-time professor at Centennial College in the addictions and mental health program.
Tarak is a compassionate, client-focused social worker who applies his advanced knowledge of human behaviour, supportive counselling and intervention techniques to support people through stress, anxiety, depression, life and career transitions, family and relationship issues, and self-esteem issues. He has completed additional training in Solution-Focused, Emotion-Focused, Narrative, and Cognitive-Behavioural approaches. Tarek practices from a holistic, person-centered approach based on meeting clients where they are and helping them reach their goals.
He identifies as a Muslim and also provides faith-based therapy.
Tarek provides services in English and Bengali.
Tarek is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
