Julia works collaboratively with her clients to help them better manage their mental health challenges when faced with difficult life transitions. She empowers her clients to manage depression, anxiety, disordered eating patterns (e.g. binge eating, emotional eating, yo-yo dieting), self-esteem and body image distress, addictions, grief, and relationship stress. She mainly works with adults and adolescents in private practice, while continuing to work as a clinical social worker at Toronto Western Hospital where she supports patients affected by chronic disease, obesity, and illness.
She draws from her extensive training in solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to empower her clients to move towards a healthier, more peaceful life. She does this by building her clients’ strengths & resiliencies to help them meet their goals.
