Ayesha is a Registered Psychotherapist who has a MA is counselling psychology form Yorkville, a graduate diploma in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham college and a Bachelors in Psychology from The University of Toronto. In addition to working at Wellnest, Ayesha currently works as an addiction counsellor providing support to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Ayesha has a variety of experience working with individuals from various backgrounds. Ayesha is experienced in supporting individuals with concerns such as substance use, depression, anxiety, self- esteem, stress, coping with transitions as well as navigating the mental health system and connecting with resources in the community.
Ayesha provides a non judgmental, strength based, collaborative trauma informed approach to help individuals achieve their goals. Ayesha encourages discussions about emotions, and helps clients to challenge their perspectives, while also remaining practical and solution-focused when required. She believes in the importance of connection and the need for a safe space. She approaches each client with warmth and compassion allowing them to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. Asking for help is difficult and Ayesha wants to be there to make the process easier, and wants to walk along side of you as you take this journey towards health and contentment.
Ayesha uses an eclectic approach- meaning she draws form modalities depending on the needs of the client. Some modalities she pulls from are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution focused, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
