Andrea Seymore is a registered Social Worker who is passionate about working with individuals, children, youth and their families. She has over 15 years of experience as a Clinician with a focus on providing individual therapy to children and adolescents. Andrea has obtained a undergraduate degree in Social Work from York University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University specializing in Individual Family and Group therapy.
Andrea's goal is to help clients discover their inner strengths and resilience in order to overcome challenges and develop personal growth. She utilizes an eclectic approach which focuses on being client centered and working from an anti-oppressive and trauma informed lens. Andrea aims to provide her clients with a compassionate, empathetic, safe and non-judgmental space where they can learn and gain greater insight about themselves.
Andrea has extensive experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds who are experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management grief or self-esteem. She has also supported families in areas of custody and access issues, developing parenting plans and reunification challenges. Andrea has training in therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, brief solution focused, Motivational Interviewing and elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness.
